Ingredients
grapes (green and red)
cheese (I use mixture of Colby Jack, Monterey Jack, Medium and Sharp Cheddar)
Yield: 1 platter | Prep time: 10 minutes |
Cook Mode - Prevent screen from going dark
Notes
Choose your favorite cheeses for this appetizer tree; I created it for my son's school holiday party, opting for kid-friendly varieties. However, cheeses such as Gouda, Blue Cheese, Manchego, Swiss, Gruyère, Havarti, and even Parmesan cheese or Mozzarella cheese work wonderfully too.
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients. Wash the green and red grapes thoroughly, let them dry on paper towels. Cut various cheeses into cubes. 2. Start by arranging the cheese cubes and grapes on a rectangle serving platter (or cookie sheet) forming the shape of a Christmas tree. Arrange two rows of cheese cubes, creating the widest part of the tree. Follow with a layer of red grapes. Add another two rows of cheese cubes. Use green grapes for the next layer and so on. 3. If desired, add a star to the top of the tree. I used colored paper, folded it in half to cut out identical shapes, and then glued two matching star cutouts together with a toothpick in between. If you happen to have a star cookie cutter, use it to cut a star from the cheese. You can also make a tree trunk by using a log-shaped piece of cheese or enhance your festive appetizer with small real Christmas treen branches.
